Through our brilliant teams delivering great works, we have been awarded many accreditations.

We believe that each accreditation is a testament to the professionalism and commitment of our Bettamix Highways operatives. Each one demonstrates our determination to deliver excellence and innovation, while maintaining an approach that ensures every job is completed to a high standard.

ISO 9001:

ISO 9001 sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is the only standard in the family that can be certified to (although this is not a requirement). It can be used by any organization, large or small, regardless of its field of activity. In fact, there are over one million companies and organizations in over 170 countries certified to ISO 9001.

This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. These principles are explained in more detail in ISO’s quality management principles. Using ISO 9001 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good-quality products and services, which in turn brings many business benefits.

ISO 14001:

ISO 14001 sets out the criteria for an environmental management system and can be certified to. It maps out a framework that a company or organization can follow to set up an effective environmental management system.

Designed for any type of organization, regardless of its activity or sector, it can provide assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.

ISO 45001:

For organizations that are serious about improving employee safety, reducing workplace risks and creating better, safer working conditions, there’s ISO 45001.

According to the International Labour Organization, more than 7,600 people die from work-related accidents or diseases every single day. That’s why an ISO committee of occupational health & safety experts set to work to develop an International Standard with the potential to save almost three million lives each year. Structured in a similar way to other ISO management systems, the approach will be familiar to users of standards such as ISO 14001 or ISO 9001. ISO 45001 builds on the success of earlier international standards in this area such as OHSAS 18001, the International Labour Organization’s ILO-OSH Guidelines, various national standards and the ILO’s international labour standards and conventions.

CHAS:

CHAS helps clients (buyers) and contractors (suppliers) ensure compliance across the different areas of risk management, and mitigate risks across the supply chain. They offer accreditation schemes that can help businesses achieve compliance, mitigate supply chain risks and support efficient supply chain management.

Constructionline:

Gold membership from Constructionline means they Audit us using an enhanced prequalification questionnaire that goes beyond PAS 91. They assess our company’s credentials for environmental management, quality management, equal opportunities, modern slavery act adherence and anti-bribery and corruption policies. Some of these policies form part of the Cabinet Office Selection Questionnaire (SQ), which the public sector is expected to comply with.

NHSS:

National Highways Sector Schemes (NHSS) are bespoke integrated quality management systems for organisations working on the UK road network. They use the current ISO 9001 as the basic standard, and additionally provide specific requirements and interpretation for a particular industry.

There are currently more than 20 individual schemes. They cover activities ranging from fencing, landscaping and vehicle safety restraints to road surfacing and marking, and traffic management.

If a company supplies services (including the supply of products but excluding the manufacture of products subject to legal conformity assessment requirements) to Highways England under the Specification for Highways Works (SHW), they must be certified under all the relevant schemes for the work they are carrying out.

The schemes aim to make sure that work is carried out to the highest standards of professionalism, using properly trained staff. They also place a strong emphasis on health and safety.

This guide explains the benefits of certification, and the steps involved in achieving it. It also describes the range of schemes available, who they apply to, and how to access the scheme documents.
